100% Extrafine Non-Shrinkable Pure Virgin Merino Wool, spun by Tollegno 1900 (Biella). The term ’virgin’ refers to the wool sheared from the fleece, completely natural, not regenerated or retrieved from other industrial processes. The Woolmark certification guarantees pure organic virgin wool.

The color is Blu Zero, darker than black, with a special sheen in changing light.

The jeweled buttons are made of matte gold metal and hand-stitched.

HISTORY
During the Crimean War, due to the constant temperature changes on the battlefield, James Thomas Brudenell, the 7th Earl of Cardigan and commander of the British army, had to undress multiple times a day, necessarily dismounting and removing his headgear.

In battle, time is precious, and the commander decides to resolve it his way: he takes one of the thick V-necked woolen jumpers from the standard issue, and cuts it down the chest, adding buttons to join the two flaps.

Thus, the first cardigan was born.
